After the hair transplant procedure, you must follow the doctor’s recommendations.
There are things you need to know to ensure a successful hair transplant recovery process:
- You will need to avoid washing your hair for the first 72 hours after the hair transplant procedure. Once that period is over, you can wash your hair gently. During the post- operative consultation, the doctor will explain how to do this without damaging the newly transplanted hair.
- During the first week after hair transplant procedure, you have to sleep on your back and by using the neck pillow.
- 15 days after the procedure, follow the doctor’s recommendations for hair care, use special shampoos and other hair care products.
- Avoid exposing your scalp to direct sunlight for the first two weeks after your hair transplant. If you have to go outside during that time, don’t stay out too long.
- Do not swim in the pool or the sea for 2 months after the hair transplant.
- Do not consume alcohol, cigarette, hookah for a week and keep away from all tobacco products.
- While the first 72 hours of recovery after a hair transplant procedure are the most critical, you will need to take it easy for some time to come. Doctors recommend avoiding exercise and other strenuous activities for about two weeks after a hair transplant.
